When I saw this thumb in my watch gallery, I thought it was drawing of a creepy reject from Killer Clowns from Outerspace (yes... I have a slight aversion to clowns). But then I recognized your name as the creator and had to click on it. While, for me at least, it still maintains the creep factor even as a photo, I can attest to the interesting points of this peice.

I appriciate the grittines of the paint on the model. It really adds to the overall effect. Add to that the fact the "candy" is not all gorey and bloody but something "childlike", pretty and sweet looking it really gives a twist to the expected freak factor this picture would have had if given something bloody instead. Not to say it's any less creepy... Maybe a bit moreso. Kind of like if Tim Curry's clown from Steven King's IT decided to enjoy a pink ice cream with sprinkles. It milds out the strange freaky factor of the character but still leves you looking at it with a slight chill going down the spine because it's just not right in so many ways.
